playlist for the dead - book review
"People are going to say a lot of things. And some of it will be helpful, and some of it will be annoying, and lots of it will get on your nerves. But they're saying it because they found it helpful when they lost someone. They mean well."
if someone asked me to describe this book in one word, I couldn't,
Playlist for the Dead by Michelle Falkoff is about a boy named Sam. His best and only, friend Hayden has just committed suicide, and all he has left, as a suicide note, is a playlist, with 27 songs on it. As he tries to decipher the playlist he learns more and more about Hayden's life, and the people in it.
the concept and idea of the story is really amazing and the plot of the story is very well written too.
its just that (don't attack me) the ending kind of failed to impress me.
as I read through the book, it kind of got predictable for me and how the characters would play part in Hayden's death and so on.
since its a mystery novel, I thought maybe it would include some major plot twists but the story didn't continue much out of the little bubble of main characters.
don't get me wrong, this novel was written exceptionally well and I loved it but the ending was abrupt and I think the readers were expecting a bit more than that.
even after this I definitely think you should read it at least once. at the end I got attached to the characters, especially Sam and Astrid, and I didn't regret reading it.
thank you and farewell my fellow readers.
